Then
they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his
house. (Acts 16:32 NIV)
In those early days of the Church, the people that made up the
Church went to each others houses, sharing and teaching, as they did
not have their own building. In that environment, they enjoyed each
others company, as they learned more about Jesus. Today in Churches
all over the world, small groups and "house churches" meet,
following this same pattern set down long ago.
Set in a friendly and non threatening environment, Altona
Christian Centre holds it's mid week meetings in the homes of
church-goers, usually on a Wednesday evening during the normal
school term. A small group environment, people gather together to
talk, encourage, study and fellowship, building each other up, and
praying for each other.
Recently, our mid -week small group meetings followed Rick
Warren's " 40 days of purpose" campaign, which saw the group numbers
escalate to 12 or more people in each home, every Wednesday evening,
all with one thing in mind - to see God change their lives. The
result was not only amazing, but long lasting as well.
Following on from the phenomenal success of what God did in
individual lives through those 40 days, our Wednesday evening
meetings are looking at this material in even more depth - with even
greater results as God's truth changes us forever.
If you are interested, why not
contact the Church for a
venue near you? It's a great way to meet new people, learn about
God, and discuss ways to see your life changed, all at the same
time! |
